Jonathan Uliel Saldanha’s new project, which will be presented at the end of the year at Rivoli, is currently being filmed in various locations around the city.
“3xDRILL”, co-produced by SOOPA and Teatro Municipal do Porto, is composed of three solos for prosthetic bodies in motion, starring the dancers Ana Isabel Castro, Debora N’jiokou and Deeogo Oliveira and filmed from spatial axes where architecture, electricity and landscape clash with notions of nature, camouflage and healing.
Bingo da Trindade, Shopping Center Brasília, Silo Auto and the rooftop of Shopping Via Catarina are some of the production scenarios, which will result in an installation to be presented on the stage of the Grand Auditorium of Rivoli on December 10th and 11th and, later, in a 30-minute short film.
The team, led by Jonathan Uliel Saldanha, is made up of Luís Sobreiro (Camera, Cinematography and Dramaturgy), Catarina Miranda (Dramaturgy), Júlio Alves (Makeup), Duarte Ferreira (Sound Design) and Miguel Flor (Styling).
Jonathan Uliel Saldanha is a musician, visual artist, sound and scenic builder, and investigates areas of intersection between pre-language, alterity, science fiction, sound as a vector of contagion and the tension between the synthetic and the landscape. He is an associated artist at Teatro Municipal do Porto for the 2021/2022 season.
