Filmaporto presents documentary about Henrique Alves Costa in Batalha
On Saturday 14th June at 7.15pm, Filmaporto – film commission will be showing the documentary Henrique Alves Costa: Cinéfilo Inconformista, directed by Manuel Vitorino, at Batalha Centro de Cinema.
An essential figure in the history of Portuguese cinema, Henrique Alves Costa (1910-1988) was a cinephile, a critic and a tireless defender of national cinema, with special emphasis on the work of Manoel de Oliveira. In this documentary, Manuel Vitorino traces his biography and delves into the memory of Portuguese film clubs, evoking landmark moments such as the New Portuguese Cinema Week, the Porto Film Club and the Portuguese Federation of Film Clubs.
The screening, presented by the director himself, is free to attend, subject to picking up a ticket on the day, and is limited to two tickets per person.
