Filming in Porto
Porto is a unique location where history and modernity coexist harmoniously. Its Historic Centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Ribeira is on the list of Treasures of European Film Culture. The city also has a remarkable architectural heritage, with works by award-winning authors such as Eiffel, Álvaro Siza, Souto de Moura and Rem Koolhaas.

Film Permits Applications
To film in Porto’s public spaces, you need to fill out an average of two to three forms — the project form is only filled out once; if your project is large-scale, mobilising several apparatus and human resources, you must fill out a location form for each of the locations where you intend to film. If you need to restrict traffic or request parking space, there is a specific form for this purpose. Forms must be completed and submitted at least 7 business days before filming begins.
This document, with information about your project and company, must be sent with an official copy of your civil liability insurance policy.
Here you should explain what will happen at each filming location. If your project is simple, you can fill out just one form for several locations. If your project is on a larger scale, mobilising several apparatus and human resources, you should fill out a location form for each of the locations where you intend to film.
If you need parking spaces or traffic restrictions, please fill out this form.
