Batalha hosts Filmaporto screening with work inspired by Greek mythology
Kalliopē, a Musa das Musas, by Luís Rosa Lopes, a short film that intertwines mythology, memory, and contemporaneity, will be presented at Batalha on January 16, Friday, at 7.15pm, as part of the Sessões Filmaporto.
Drawing on the figure of Kalliopē — daughter of Mnēmosýnē, Memory — the film proposes a symbolic journey back to inspiration. Lost in a “Cosmos Cosmético” shaped by the noise of everyday life, the Muse begins a syntropic path guided by her maternal figure, rediscovering the Mouseion, understood here as the place of creation and the origin of artistic thought.
The screening is part of Batalha’s regular programme dedicated to filmmakers from Porto and to projects filmed in the city. The works shown are selected by Filmaporto — film commission through an open call, reinforcing a commitment to local production and to new perspectives on contemporary cinema.
Admission is free, subject to same-day ticket collection, with a limit of two tickets per person.
