The next Filmaporto Session at Batalha Centro de Cinema takes place on 13 February at 7:15 pm and is dedicated to the work of filmmaker Saguenail (Serge Abramovici), with the director in attendance.
The programme, titled Falsos Raccords, brings together four works that span different formal and thematic registers, while sharing a common concern: a critical interrogation of artistic codes and the human condition.

In A Imitação, Saguenail draws on sacred painting to construct an allegory filmed in a church transformed into a bar during Easter 2003. Featuring “as many actors as there are days in the year”, the film confronts the viewer with a blunt question: to die like Christ, or to betray, knowingly, like Peter?

Mau Dia, inspired by Jacques Prévert’s poem Petit déjeuner du matin, uses the dilation of time as a narrative strategy. The apparent banality of everyday life gradually reveals an intimate drama. Everything is meticulously deconstructed and rebuilt: painted sets, orchestrated rain, actions mimed, performed or sung.

Alma Depenada draws on biographical elements of the performer (Leonor Keil) to stage a dialogue with the double — or with multiple doubles. A confrontation marked by hostility, rejection and, ultimately, the symbolic elimination of these reflected figures. The result is a film about identity, memory and inner conflict.

Non Scriptus Manet takes Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe as its starting point to follow two women and two men who slip from the non-time of the museum into the present day.

Admission is free, subject to ticket collection on the day, limited to two tickets per person.
